Superchain ERC20
Deploy your Superchain ERC20 now to enable interoperable assets across the Superchain as soon as Interop goes live!
Allow anyone to deploy and bridge this token to another Superchain network.
You have questions, we have answers.
Here are some frequently asked questions about Superchain, Interoperability and the Superchain ERC20 standard.
What is Superchain ERC20?
SuperchainERC20 is an implementation of ERC-7802 for Superchain Interop-compatible ERC20 tokens. It's a simple extension of ERC20, adding a set of properties and an interface that enables ERC20 token fungibility across the Superchain.
Why deploy Superchain ERC20 now?
Although Superchain Interop is still in active development, you can start preparing your app now to benefit from interoperable assets once Superchain Interop goes live.
When Superchain Interop goes live, do I need to upgrade to make SuperchainERC20 interoperable?
No, once Superchain Interop goes live, tokens become interoperable without any additional upgrades on your side.
What is Superchain Interop?
Interoperability is the ability for a blockchain to securely read the state of another blockchain. Native OP Stack interoperability provides the ability to read messages and transfer assets across chains in the Superchain (without having to go through L1) via low-latency, secure message passing.
Where can I learn more about Superchain ERC20 and Superchain Interop?
Optimism has a great explainer on Superchain Interoperability and how Superchain ERC20 works. You can find more information in Superchain Docs.
What is ERC-7802?
ERC-7802 introduces a minimal interface for tokens to communicate cross-chain. It allows bridges with mint and burn rights to send and relay token transfers with a standardized API.
Will every ERC20 token be SuperchainERC20?
Superchain EC20 is an extension of ERC20, so not every ERC20 token will be a Superchain ERC20. However, SuperchainERC20 tokens will be interoperable across the Superchain.
Will Superchain ERC20 share the same address on all networks?
Yes! Superchain ERC20 tokens deployed on CreateMyToken will share the same address across all supported Superchain Networks. This allows for seamless interoperability.
